Beginner Recipes – Breakfast

Breakfast
Marilu recommends “breaking the fast” each morning with fruit. Some people eat only fruit in the morning; others start with one piece of fruit and have a more substantial breakfast about 2 hours later. Either way is fine!
Jessica’s Breakfast Smoothie * from Healthy Life Kitchen
serves 1 * purple
1 cup orange juice
5 cubes frozen mango
2 or 3 frozen strawberries
Put ingredients into blender and blend until smooth; about 45-60 seconds.
Serve alone or with 10-12 raw almonds.
Joey’s French Toast * from The 30-Day Total Health Makeover
serves 1 * blue
1 egg white with splash of rice milk
Dash vanilla extract
Dash of cinnamon
1 slice flourless, whole grain bread
Combine egg white, rice milk, vanilla, and cinnamon in a bowl. Whisk well, dip the bread into the liquid coating well, cook on non-stick griddle or pan lightly greased with soy margarine. Serve with 1 tsp pure maple syrup or honey.
