In honor of Booty Camp…

…how about some booty moves?

As Marilu.com members start their second week of Booty Camp, you can get working on your own booty.

Best moves to shape your bum? Lunges and squats. Today we’ll do squats – to some amazing music.

  1. Start with your feet hip distance apart, with your toes pointing forward.
  2. Bend your knees and push your butt back, as though you’re sitting into a chair. Your knees should not go forward further than your toes. Try to get to a 90-degree angle (but don’t worry if you don’t).
  3. As you come back up to standing, squeeze your butt, and tuck it under when you get to the top.
  4. You can lightly hold a chair for support, or push your hands forward as you go down. Advanced? Hold a weight in both hands, and push it forward as you go down. Keep the weight just below shoulder level.

 

Do 2 sets of 15, then change your stance.

  • 2nd stance – feet just wider than shoulder distance apart, toes pointing forward. Do 2 sets of 15, then change your stance.
  • 3rd stance – turn toes out and repeat. Make sure your knees also point in the new direction of your feet, and still don’t go forward further than your toes. Do 2 sets of 15.
