From a no-nonsense cop wrangling an outlawed motorcycle club, to a diplomatic security agent protecting Sigourney Weaver at every turn, and a juiced up baseball player struggling to keep his career in tact, LaMonica Garrett has become one of the most watched actors in the entertainment industry today. Throughout 2015-16, Garrett can be seen in a handful of exciting projects in film and television. First, he can be seen appearing in season 2 of HULU’s sitcom “The Hotwives of Las Vegas” as Adonis. Developed by Paramount Digital Entertainment as a parody of “The Real Housewives” reality television franchise, the show is set to premiere August 18th, and air through September 2015. On the film front, Garrett will appear as Marco opposite Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell in Paramount’s DADDY’S HOME – set for release on December 25, 2015. Garrett has also been busy in the indie film scene, he recently wrapped XOXO, the directorial feature debut of creative studio Walter Robot. Set at the eponymous Portland, OR media festival, the film follows six strangers whose lives become intertwined over the course of a long, hopelessly romantic night. Garrett plays Chopper, manager and right hand man to superstar DJ Avilo [Ryan Hansen]. Netflix has worldwide rights, and the film will premiere day and date on the streaming service along with theatrical and other platforms.

Although athletics were a huge passion of his throughout high school and college, the arts were equally fascinating to him, and he would always find ways to perform. From breakdancing and rapping to singing and dancing at local parks in the bay area, Garrett had the acting bug. His undeniable talents in football would take him to college at Central State Ohio, where he played two seasons as inside linebacker. He then made the difficult decision to leave college early, to pursue a full-time career in the NFL. After training with several teams he realized his calling was not in football, and that he had to give acting a real shot. He packed up all his belongings and made the move to Los Angeles, obtaining a job working at FedEx upon arrival. His delivery route included the Warner Bros. lot, where he delivered packages to the cast of “Friends”, “Everyone Loves Raymond”, and “ER”, he was officially hooked. Garrett immersed himself in acting classes, and worked on getting his foot in the door.
In 2010, Garrett began landing guest star roles on top TV shows including “One Tree Hill”, “Eastwick”, “10 Things I Hate About You”, “Parenthood”, “CSI: Miami”, and “Single Ladies”. He also did a variety of recurring work, appearing on “Dark Blue”, “NCIS”, and he guest starred on USA’s “Suits”, which would open the door to a future relationship with the network. In 2011 he made his feature film debut with a supporting role in TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON for Paramount Pictures. 2012 was a banner year for Garrett, landing a role on the Emmy-nominated USA series “Political Animals”. Aside from his work in film and television, Garrett also has a love for the stage and in 2012 co-starred in David E. Talbert’s play Suddenly Single opposite Garcelle Beauvais and Isaiah Washington. The business side of filmmaking has also become a passion of Garrett’s, as he recently made his first foray into the producing world, Executive Producing and starring in MOUTHPIECE; an urban hangover meets entourage type of film that is currently being shopped.

When not working, Garrett loves to do yoga, he is a comic book fan, and he enjoys working out and staying fit. He is also dedicated to working with underprivileged youth, and supports various charity organizations that provide support for kids and teens. He currently lives in the LA area.
