Nancy - THM Success Story
I have been doing THM now for 4 years...wow how time flies. But 5 years ago I had a major life changing event happen. I was hit by a drunk driver... I was air lifted to the hospital, family told I would not make it. Well I did! They also said I would never walk again without a cane or walker. Not only did I prove the doctors wrong... but I did a lot more in my recovery than walk!
In my year of recovery I was soul searching, not eating well, and very depressed. I saw Marilu on TV... her sparkle really affected me. Not only the Dairy/Red-Meat-free THM way but her GUSTO! I wanted to be like that.
So with drive, determination, and jumping in with two feet, I started the THM Online Class... what an impact it had on me. First it was oh my ... getting on line... talking to unknown people... what if they're weirdos?! Little did I know how crazy we all are. LOL! I fell in love with the on line support, friendships and the great love that is on these boards. I also really started recovering, mentally, physically, and eating right for the first time in my life.
I started riding a bike again. I rode so much that I did the Seattle to Portland Bike Ride in 2001. That is over 200 miles in two days. The gang on line was so supportive. Cheering me on! Who would of thought that being hit by a drunk driver and possibly not walking again and I was going over the finish line in Portland on my bike! What a great feeling that was!
I was at my all time high weight of 202 (I am only 5'3") 5 years ago, and once I went all the way THM I am now a happy 150. Yes I could still work on losing more... but when my body is ready it will come off. I am a work in progress and have not ridden my bike like I used to... but I still work at it.
I have also had life changing events in the past 4 years: a divorce, daughter getting married, selling my house, and starting a new career. I am going to go back to school this fall to learn Natural Homeopathic Healing, Massage, and Reiki. Life can take you on many different paths and I am ready for the change and ready to improve my life. Hey I am only 41... I have lots to enjoy in life and I really excited about the future. As I look at it I am really only 5 years old and starting fresh!
THM is wonderful... it is not only a way of life it is LIFE!!!! Enjoy it. I want to thank everyone who I meet and chat with on these boards. You all leave a great impression on me. Marilu you are wonderful… no words can say enough as to what you have done for me Thank you.
