Paul - THM Success Story
I am an old friend of Marilu. In fact if you are familiar with her recent "love story" I am the mutual friend, always unnamed in the articles, that put Michael back in touch with Marilu.
I looked so fat in the pictures from their wedding, and about that time someone started a pool at work where 8 guys put up $250 each and it was a contest to see who could lose the most (by percentage) in 3 months.
I bought a copy of Marilu's Total Health Makeover® book and I lost 24 lbs in 3 months using her program. I won the contest - I went from 188 to 164 pounds and I lost 13.4% of my body weight.
The guys who finished in 2nd and 3rd place also lost some weight, on a different diet plan, but not quite as much as I did.
I collected $1,750 for winning the office pool. Aside from the money, this is a very competitive group and it meant something to win.
By the way, I'm also a witness to Marilu's makeover. I knew her when she was heavy. She's about 5'7", was probably 50 lbs heavier than she is now, and since we lived in Chicago it was always cold, and when Marilu wore heavy wool winter clothing your first impression was that this was a big girl, big framed, big boned as they say. I hadn't seen her in several years except on TV, when she invited me to see her in "Chicago" on Broadway. With leotards doing the Bob Fosse numbers I couldn't believe it was the same person. Now someone's first impression is definitely that she is slight of frame.
In my own case I think losing the weight definitely makes me look younger, and being single, the difference in the way women "check me out" is obvious. Its funny though, people that know me will say things like "Hey, you got a great haircut, it makes you look 10 years younger," not knowing that I lost over 20 lbs. Of course I feel much better too.
