UNFORGETTABLE is a great new crime drama on CBS.  It airs Tuesday nights at 10/9 central and is based largely on Marilu’s experiences with Highly Superior Autobiographical Memory (HSAM, or hyperthymesia).

It stars Poppy Montgomery in the role of Carrie Wells,  a police officer who uses her superior memory to help solve crime. 

Marilu is a consultant, and a recent guest star,  on this show which was just nominated for a PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD!

Unforgettable airs Tuesday nights at 10/9 central on CBS.  It’s one of the hottest shows of the season.  If you haven’t yet seen it, check it out tonight.

This new series is sure to be, well unforgettable.  But for those of here at Marilu.com it should prove to be familiar as well.  Carrie Wells, the main character in this CBS Drama possesses  superior autobiographical memory.  She is one of the few people in the world to have been identified as having this ability.

Of course we all know that in real life Marilu Henner is one of a small handful of people possessing SAM.  The writers and creators know this as well which is why Marilu is a consultant on this exciting new show.  Not only is the vehicle modeled after Marilu’s ability but check out this clip featuring the beautiful lead actress Poppy Montgomery.  Remind you of any other gorgeous redheads?

Henner brings the same kind of effervescent energy to this staging as Lee [her character] brings into the drab lives of Marjorie and Ira. Having played the role on Broadway, Henner shows a clear affinity for this sagacious, sensual bon vivant – or, as Lee sees herself, “an abrasive, passionate pain in the ass.”

Whatever health books you come across by Marilu Henner, be sure to buy them. Whatever advice she’s giving in them, it sure works, as she, herself, demonstrates in her cabaret debut. She was a bundle of energy that never seemed to let down. Her opening number, “Zip,” featured special additional lyrics by her brother, Lorin Henner, loaded with contemporary cultural references from David Sedaris to Anna Faris.

Her appearance at the Gardenia was particularly appropriate for her, as she described how she used to drive past the club on her way to Paramount to film the TV series Taxi, and thinking about wanting to play there. The show followed a biographical path and the fact that a large flat screen television was in position behind her could have meant an ego-driven journey through her career highlights. Instead, it served to offer up an opportunity for her to deliver some self-deprecating humor, as she showed a selection of early career moments as well as a hilarious mix of suggestive talk show appearances.

Always in command of her voice, she shined on both belt and pop numbers. Her early career as a body part model served to provide a forum for a body part medley, including “Gonna Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair,” “Cheek to Cheek,” and “Redneck Woman.”

If you see this Taxi driver in your neighborhood, be sure to flag her down, as she will give you a helluva ride.
